    Modernizing Chambers & New Technologies

In a recent statement by the Minister of Development, Mr. Folias, it is stated that: "Chambers of Commerce will operate as a one-stop shop". In particular, Development Minister Christos Folias, during his visit to the renovated building of the Kilkis Chamber, referred to the modernization of chambers to make them "more flexible in their day-to-day operations, more responsibly in their actions, more effectively in their collective institutional representation business world. The upgrading of the Chambers' Chamber will also contribute to the success of our initiatives to drastically reduce the company's start-up procedures. Chambers will operate as a one stop shop, as the Reception Point, where the supporting documents required for the establishment of companies will be submitted, as well as any other act and item disclosed in accordance with the applicable provisions. At the same time, the introduction of the lump-sum payment of a single corporate tax, which includes the total fees, taxes and levies provided for by the applicable provisions, is being promoted. We welcome the efforts of the public administration to modernize the chambers, but we should observe that only with the application of the new technology will it be possible to realistically renew and rationalize them. Similarly, as in the case of TAXIS, it is also necessary in this area to provide e-services to citizens and to integrate this project into eGovernment planning.

A major impetus is expected to be given by the new E-Commerce Registry ( GEMI ), which has yet to materialize.
