Book Review: Consumers Protection Law
A new reference work has recently been issued by Sakkoula Publications, which is intended to cover issues related to consumer protection law.
This project is a two-volume project and presents a series of individual themes. It is worth noting that, unlike the other studies on consumer law, which are the focus of Law 2251/1994, the present work is not exhausted in the interpretation of this law, but extends to a wider presentation and subject matter than Law 2.251 / 1994, such as financial and financial transactions, insurance, e-commerce and so on.
At the heart of the analysis is the Community legislation, as interpreted by the ECJ's extensive case-law and legislative acts harmonizing Greek with Community law.
In particular, the project includes the following topics:
Consumer Contract Law (Consumer PRs - Out-of-Shop Contracts - Distance Contracts - Consumer Sale).
Trafficking, Advertising and Product and Service Safety (Product Liability - General Product Safety - Commercial Agents - Comparative Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices - Product Price).
Electronic Transactions (Electronic Payment Means - Electronic Signature - E-commerce).
Financial Transactions (Consumer Loan - Deposit Guarantee Scheme - Payment Systems - Transparency of Banking Terms in Cross-Border Financial Transactions - Cross-Border Credit Transfers - Mortgage Loans - Cross-Border Payments in Euro - Single Euro Payments Area - ).
Financial Transactions (Information and protection of investors in the primary capital market - Protection of investors as consumers - Distance marketing of financial services - Financial collateral arrangements).
(General context of protection of the recipient of tourist services in the Community legal order - Organized trips - Timeshares - Air carrier liability in the event of an accident - Compensation to air passengers and assistance).
Consumer Prosecution (Extrajudicial Consumer Dispute Resolution - Collective Education).
